Position Summary:

KLAS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada is looking for an experienced, creative, and aggressive Morning Executive Producer to lead our morning team with delivering news on multiple platforms. The successful candidate must be a proven newsroom leader who embodies an audience-first approach to delivering news. This individual will excel under tight deadlines and bring bold, creative ideas to our newsroom. We need a leader who will work to grow our product and the team to #1.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Three hours of morning newscasts and cut-ins, including oversight on story selection, content, and production
• Work with morning team to create innovative news content across all platforms in an audience-first environment; ability to think differently and critically
• Lead a team that produces an urgent newscast in a fast-paced work environment
• Coach and train a strong team of Producers; support a positive work culture
• Collaborate with Newscast Producers, Crews, Digital Producers, Editors, and the Assignment Desk to select and cover stories
• Strong news judgement and working knowledge of current events and community issues
• Produce and write as needed
• Provide regular feedback and coaching on newscast with staff, both as a team and individually
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Rotate as weekend on-call manager
• Coordinate schedules with News Director and other news department managers

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience required
• 3 years of news producing experience
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to track and select trending news stories
• Working knowledge of how to engage viewers on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a rapid, fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Work Environment:

Deadline driven environment can be stressful. Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays and be on call as needed

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Executive Producer must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Executive Producer must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
