PM Production Supervisor/Director

This position will coordinate all evening newscast and show production responsibilities within the News department. The evening production supervisor will also have directing and coding responsibilities.

PURPOSE/REASON FOR THE POSITION:
• Manage evening production team, be a point of contact for production employees
• Produce and manage a schedule for employees; Approve timecards, vacation requests, and sick time
• Complete comprehensive yearly performance evaluations for your team
• Recruit, hire, teach and train new employees
• Work with news managers, and producers to put together high quality, fast-paced newscasts.
• Direct various live and taped broadcasts and productions.
• Responsible for quality control of the technical side of the final product being developed.
• Help develop a strategy to creatively get the most out of our new newscast set

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB :
• Physically and verbally direct live broadcasts
• Management and Leadership skills
• Adjust to breaking news or changing circumstances
• Direct or oversee special programming and/or projects
• Work as a liaison between news department, creative services department and production department
• Perform other technical duties as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Four-year degree in communication
• Three years' experience directing in a television or production facility
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques used in producing and directing live and taped broadcasts
• Prior leadership or management skills helpful
• Valid driver's license is required.

Additional Job Description

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Production personnel that are involved with a broadcast production.

Salary Range: $60K-$75K depending on experience
