Engineering and Operations Manager

Job Description

The Engineering and Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day technical operations of the Nexstar/News Nation Washington, DC, Bureau and is responsible for the maintenance of all broadcast technology and equipment at the Bureau and DC remote locations (Capitol, White House, etc).
• Manages all aspects of the Engineering, IT, and Maintenance at the Nexstar/News Nation DC Bureau.
• Maintains all broadcast technology and equipment for the Bureau
• Works closely with Bureau Chiefs, Corporate and Network Engineering to build, expand, and re-imagine operations, implement new technologies, and develop efficient technical infrastructure for the Bureau.
• Manages engineering and technology capital projects to the established budgets.
• Manages and coordinates fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems.
• Evaluates, selects, installs, services and maintains Bureau equipment and information technology systems.
• Repairs and maintains Bureau office infrastructure.
• Assists in maintaining Bureau vehicle fleet, including live TVU trucks.
• Communicates with and coordinates equipment maintenance and training with vendors/contractors.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• Degree in Electronics, Communications, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred
• Minimum five years' experience with a television broadcasting environment. Network experience a plus.
• Creative problem solver with a desire to research, evaluate, and employ the latest technology.
• Familiarity with TVU, Bit Central, Adobe Premiere, IT Networking, and ENPS a plus.
• Fluency in English; strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work extended hours, when required.
