Job Description
The Director, Product Analytics, is responsible for driving forward the digital strategy pertaining to product, marketing and content development for Websites and mobile apps. We're looking for a Director to lead our team of analysts on our mission to evolve into a data-informed, results-driven company. Reporting to the Senior Director of Analytics, the Director will work closely with other data team members and partner with multiple groups, including Product, Engineering, Audience Development, Marketing and the local TV stations. The Director must have a deep understanding of digital media and be willing to work towards creative solutions to help grow data literacy at Nexstar.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, passionate, organized, and can operate effectively in independent and collaborative team settings. It is a unique opportunity to lead the nation's largest broadcast company's product analytics arm and help move our business into the future. Familiarity with the broadcast TV industry is a plus.

This position may be remote, but candidates in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Chicago or Dallas are preferred.

Responsibilities
• Lead and grow a hyper-collaborative team of excellent data analysts that provides insights to empower business decisions for company leadership, internal stakeholders and various platform partners.
• Define KPIs, monitor and report on business and operational metrics to drive engagement on Websites, apps and other digital distribution channels.
• Collaborate with data engineering and revenue analytics teams to translate business requirements, define workflows and guide the evolution of a best-in-class BI platform that will democratize access to key business data.
• Guide sales and marketing research using both internal traffic data and external tools such as Nielsen, comScore and Scarborough.
• Lead a group responsible for developing and automating reporting that serves the business.
• Play a significant role in company-wide internal communication and education efforts to help drive data literacy.
• Establish the short- and long-term needs of resource and system requirements, and management strategies required to lead and execute on critical projects.
• Oversee the analysts' relationships with their peers, various internal teams (Content, Product Sales, Marketing, etc.) and external partners.
• Ensure the validity of the data analysis and insights prior to being shared with stakeholders.
• Build a sophisticated product analytics function that can tackle the next stage of challenges facing Nexstar.

Minimum Qualifications
• 7+ years in data and analytics, market research, insights creation, and strategy development
• In-depth experience with digital media, including analytics, advertising, and audience acquisition strategies
• Strong cultural and team leadership skills
• Creative problem-solver with the ability to look beyond existing business and technology limitations to identify the ''next big thing''
• Proven success in the execution/project management of large-scale data projects from inception through completion
• Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and experience developing market-based research solutions
• Familiarity with Web and mobile app analytics tools (Google Analytics, Firebase, Flurry, Chartbeat)
• Excellent business understanding, including how metrics/KPIs impact the success or failure of the business across multiple departments
• Ability to craft, articulate the importance of and measure the success of metrics
• Ability to think strategically and creatively in a business environment
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Team management experience strongly preferred
