Job Description
Account Executive – Grants & Government Entity FundingThe WAVY-TV 10 grant writer identifies funding opportunities from various entities, including but not limited to the Cares Act, to determine the eligibility criteria and identify grants that are worth pursuing.
WAVY-TV 10 grant writer identifies and contacts opportunities, drafts and submits proposals to apply for financial grants and proposals from government departments, foundations, and other agencies.
• Prospecting for grants and government entity funding
• Cold Calling
• Setting Meetings
• Winning Grants & Government Entity Funding
• Closing New Revenue for WAVY-TV 10 & FOX43
• Prepare supporting documents for a proposal, such as cover letter, endorsement letter, document describing how the funds will be used, etc.
• Follows up on a proposal and responds to queries.
The candidate should have excellent research and communication skills and be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft office and office computer equipment.
Grant Writer duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Generate revenue through prospecting
• Study and understand the structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of WAVY-TV 10 and FOX43
• Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies
• Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
• Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval
• Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
• Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders
• Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
Grant Writer skills and qualifications:
• Sales & Marketing
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Bachelor's degree in English, communications, creative writing, or a related area (preferred)
• A minimum of two years' experience in grant writing (preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of proposal submission process
• Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
• Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
• Multitasking, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity
• Able to adjust quickly and smoothly to shifting needs and company/departmental priorities
