Job Description

NewsNation is looking for an experienced meteorologist to present weather forecasts for America's fastest growing cable news network. The meteorologist will have national forecasting experience and a passion for communicating about the weather. The ideal candidate will be able to track and report on severe weather, natural disasters, climate, and the environment. In addition to forecasting and reporting in studio, this person should also be comfortable covering weather stories from the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Produce and present weather reports for all platforms
• Report from the field as needed to cover severe weather, natural disasters or stories about climate and the environment
• Advises management on ways to bolster weather content and special programming
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in meteorology or a related field
• 5-10 years meteorology and experience required
• Seal or certification to broadcast weather from one of the national meteorological associations
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
• Strong reporting skills
• Understand importance of social media
• Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all network personnel
• Operate newsroom computer systems
