News Nation Booking Producer

Chicago, IL

NewsNation is looking for an experienced and resourceful booking producer to be based at the network's Chicago headquarters. As a Booking Producer you will work with show producers to pitch and secure guests who are able to offer interesting and unique perspectives related to breaking news, news of day, and human interest stories. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have strong news judgment, be creative and solution oriented and work well under deadline pressure.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pitch interesting stories and guests relevant to show/brand
• Maintain extensive contacts that allow you to secure relevant guests ranging from celebrities to topical experts to political leaders
• Be able to respond to breaking news and find and vet prospective guests
• Conduct pre-interviews and prepare editorial notes and guidance for producers and talent
• Secure the booking and coordinate logistics related to appearance
• Organize and produce elements for show segments
• Monitor social media platforms for ideas Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Dataminr, and other emerging platforms
• Maintain relationships with prospective guests and organizations who represent said guests

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A bachelor's degree is preferred
• Flexibility with your hours, as breaking news or major events warrant
• 3-5 years of experience in television
• Strong editorial judgement
• Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics.
• Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings
• Experience with Lexis Nexis, ENPS would be valuable
