Anchor Producer

Job Description

NewsNation is looking for an Anchor Producer to join our growing team. The anchor producer will provide key editorial support to the anchor. Duties will include assisting in the writing of anchor packages, drafting and editing interview questions, copy editing and rewriting scripts, collecting and sharing editorial updates during breaking news coverage, and providing ongoing logistical and administrative support for the anchor.

Requirements & Skills:

Assist in compiling research for anchor

Write and produce anchor packages as needed

Assist in drafting and editing interview questions

Pitch segment and package ideas in line with show and talent values

Gather information on breaking news stories

Contribute to special projects and field assignments as needed
Occasional travel for shoots or field anchoring assignments may be requested
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

The ideal candidate has at least five years of news production experience

The candidate must have strong editorial sensibilities and writing and copy-editing skills

Strong organizational, and people skills are a must

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the table.
