Job Description
Netflix is the world's leading internet streaming service with over 209 million members in 190 countries. Our members enjoy a wide variety of streamed video per day, using over 1000 types of devices, generating more than a third of downstream Internet traffic in North America. The Content Knowledge Graph team within Data Science & Engineering is based in the entertainment capital of the world and is passionate about providing our colleagues with rich data. Our charter is to map the world's content. Data from our knowledge graph improves the efficiency of content decision-making by enabling teams to rapidly experiment while helping Netflix drive towards its goal of ''entertaining the world''.

In this role, you will partner closely with other engineers and scientists to accelerate research, drive experimentation, create analytical data products and machine learning models. This is an opportunity for someone with a strong data engineering background to demonstrate their thought leadership in crafting metrics and elegant insights that have a direct impact on the business.

Challenges you'll tackle:
• Own mission-critical portions of Netflix's graph data model. Collaborate with partners to understand needs, model data using relational and graph warehouse standard methodologies, and develop pipelines to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data.
• Continually acquire and ingest valuable data sources. Build new and improve existing ETLs that help us expand our understanding of the content universe.
• Collaborate with business partners to develop analytics and metrics to grow understanding of our data and content. Creatively explore how to use large-scale networks of data to translate and answer complex data questions using flexible methodologies.

About you:
• You are excited about building the world's largest content knowledge graph. Energized by the ability to explore graph data modeling and warehousing.
• You bring a product mindset to understand business needs, and come up with scalable data engineering solutions.
• You are nimble and take smart risks, have an eye for detail, and love to spark joy amongst your partners with high-quality data products that are well documented, modeled, and easy to understand.
• You have strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners on projects to drive high impact outcomes.
• You excel in at least one major language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java), write great SQL (any variant), and are comfortable with ETL tech (e.g., Spark); expect to work in a distributed environment.
• You have experience with MPP/Cloud data warehouse solutions (Hive, Iceberg, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Vertica, Teradata, Greenplum, etc.).
• Any experience with graph databases (Amazon Neptune, Neo4J, TigerGraph), graph query languages (Gremlin, SPARQL, Cypher), or graph data models (RDF, Property) is a plus!

Netflix offers amazing co-workers, new technology, fascinating analytical and technical challenges, and a Freedom & Responsibility Culture that's truly outstanding. It's worth learning more: http://jobs.netflix.com/culture
