Senior Accountant, Lease Accounting

The Operations Accounting team is looking for an experienced professional to own the accounting for Netflix's growing lease portfolio. This individual will be responsible for driving financial statement accuracy, building strong relationships with various cross-functional partners and managing Lease Accelerator system inputs and improvements. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of US GAAP and ASC 842, is highly accurate and detail oriented, and excels in a fast-paced environment. This role can be based out of Los Gatos or Los Angeles, CA and is not remote.

Responsibilities:
• Own the accounting for Netflix's global lease portfolio and ensure financial statement accuracy under ASC 842
• Partner with Financial Applications and Lease Accelerator customer support to manage system integrations, test new features and drive improvements
• Own Lease Accelerator data inputs and system reporting
• Collaborate with teams across the company to ensure that new leases and amendments to existing lease terms are communicated timely and accounted for accurately
• Own the month-end close process (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc) and prepare quarterly reporting deliverables (commitments, disclosures, etc)
• Act as the point of contact for consolidated and statutory audit inquiries
• Coordinate with regional accounting teams to support local reporting needs

Qualifications:
• 5+ years relevant experience; a mix of public accounting and corporate lease accounting experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP including ASC 842 lease accounting standards
• CPA or similar designation preferred
• Highly accurate and detail-oriented
• Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple tight deadlines
• Excellent communicator who is comfortable collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders
• Experience with Lease Accelerator and Workday or other cloud-based ERP system is a plus
