Research Scientist - Studio Media Algorithms
Netflix
Los Gatos, CA
We want to entertain the world. If we succeed, there is more laughter, more empathy, and more joy.
So far, we've grown to over 209 million paid memberships and have been creating new original content at a pace that's turned us quickly into the largest entertainment studio in the world. That said, we've only just begun our journey at Netflix to become the Animation studio we aim to be!
With all this studio growth, we on the Animation Studio Technology team are on a mission to create a studio that can run at an unprecedented scale and where creative visionaries can do their best work without compromise.
This role is specifically on the Studio Operations team, where we have a small, passionate, and curious product team that aims to support an unparalleled level of decision-making and efficiency at the animation studio so that we can spend as much time as possible bringing phenomenal stories to the screen in the best way possible.
Responsibilities
• Set a vision and strategy for production management workflows in the Animation space across both the studio and shows
• Problem-solve with Design and Engineering partners to create elegant and pragmatic solutions
• Lead a large cross-functional team to define a roadmap and execute ideas
• Partner with the Studio partners across Studio Leadership, Production Management, Consumer Insights, Data Science, and more groups on how the status quo of the Animation industry can be challenged through technology
• Foster and thrive in healthy debate while also communicating your vision and strategy broadly throughout the organization
What We're Looking For
• 4+ years of hands-on product management experience in delivering software products
• Humility and voracious curiosity to learn complex systems quickly
• A deep love for problem-solving paired with a grittiness to drive projects to completion
• Ability to prioritize well, and articulate your product roadmap across business functions
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead designers, engineers, and data scientists
• Flexibility for relatively frequent travel between Northern and Southern California
• Exceptional analytical and creative skills
