The Role

We're looking for an ambitious and savvy self-starter with a strong background in media and / or entertainment with a passion for film and television to join our EMEA PR team. You will work alongside the Pan-EMEA PR Manager and country PR teams to devise and deliver pan-regional campaigns and communications strategies that support Netflix's growing strength and ambitions across EMEA in original series, films, kids and family entertainment, documentaries and more. The role will craft messaging for the content teams and executives, manage executive appearances and handle crisis communications.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of issue and crisis management, and have experience in communicating with executives, filmmakers, talent and production company partners. They can skillfully and thoughtfully craft narratives, turn complex concepts into concise pitches and work with media across broadcast, print, online and radio in both the trade and consumer space. They will have worked alongside and managed agencies on projects, and can manage a budget and give visibility into their process.

The ideal candidate is able to remain calm under pressure, make wise decisions and think strategically at all times. They will collaborate well with internal partners that range from content, publicity, public policy, marketing, social media to product and beyond. Strong candidates can handle a variety of projects in a fast-paced work environment and they are eager to learn.

The successful candidate will likely have:
• 7+ years experience in entertainment with experience in a channel, production company or PR agency;
• A good understanding of the EMEA media and entertainment landscape and the confidence to build relationships with journalists - proactively pitching business, tech and media stories across TV, radio and news outlets;
• Excellent relationship building skills;
• Ability to work proactively, independently and juggle multiple tasks at once; and
• Have a good understanding of local cultures across the EMEA region.
• The role will require frequent travel and periodic travel to other international locations once Covid-related travel restrictions are no longer in place.
