Overview

The Netflix Global Public Policy team is a highly talented and experienced group of experts from diverse backgrounds who work in close partnership with their business counterparts to advance the strategic goals of the company.

Within the Global Public Policy team, the Strategic Engagement & Analytics (SEAL) team acts as an operational center of excellence focused on supporting our policy peers to build a positive narrative and provide analysis and tools to advance their specific policy strategies. One of the areas of focus is political intelligence, which delivers insights on political and geopolitical developments in order to prepare for policy risks in the medium to long term, and to support our wider policy team in understanding the political landscape.
Our team is currently seeking a Public Policy Intelligence Manager (Europe Middle East and Africa) region.

Responsibilities:
• Provide geopolitical and political risk and opportunities analysis to regional and country Policy leads, including country landscape assessments, market entry reports and support to stakeholder engagement strategies
• Horizon scanning and strategic foresight to identify trends shaping policy risks, our policy environment and opportunities at a country, regional or global level
• Develop risk-based scenario-planning based on socio-economic, political and geopolitical developments for Policy teams
• Support Policy teams with narrative-building and development of backcasting
• Leverage internal and external data to advance policy objectives
• Work with cross-functional partners to produce comprehensive assessments

Qualifications:
• 7 years of relevant experience, which can include government or private sector intelligence analysis, journalism, diplomacy, or NGO; with a focus on political affairs and geopolitical issues
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in International Relations, Intelligence Analysis, Public Policy, Journalism, Law or related major
• Experience living/working internationally, with strong regional work experience in the Middle East and/or Sub-Saharan Africa and/or Russia,
• Familiarity with open-source intelligence and social media monitoring tools
• Broad knowledge of current global issues, particularly those relevant to our industry
• Must be fluent in English. Working proficiency in at least one other language is highly desired

Ability to:
• Collect, fuse and analyze data and information from a variety of sources
• Articulate complex issues in a concise and clear manner, verbally and in writing
• Maintain a network of relevant sources in the region
• Integrate cultural context from local sources
• Think creatively in leveraging data and intelligence for the needs of the Policy team
• Place the work in the context of local and global trends that impact our industry

In addition:
• An understanding of the media, cultural and entertainment sector would be a strong advantage
