The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented Public Relations professional based in Buenos Aires with a strong understanding of the media landscape in the country.

The Role

The Manager will focus on creating cultural moments and high impact campaigns, exploring new tactics of promoting series, films and docs. He/she will serve as the expert on Argentina, able to convey cultural needs and nuances. They will be a member of a seasoned PR group that is focused in formulating, executing and sustaining media strategy for Netflix in the country. The PR function is strategically critical to building on the company's established success and reinforcing its reputation in a fast-changing, complex and competitive global media landscape. We are looking for people who rapidly consume entertainment and are passionate and curious.

The Manager will work with agency partners in promoting the brand as the best destination for entertainment, how we fit into people's lives through content, our technology and our overall service.

The role has strong cross functional interaction with teams across Argentina with a high level of visibility and impact within the business. Also, candidates should be able to formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully.

Strong candidates are good collaborators, clear communicators, and can handle a high volume of work. They are curious and ask questions, and also contribute effectively outside of their specialty. Successful candidates will have a candid and direct communication style, be willing to admit their mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with Netflix values and culture. They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they're tactful in handling such issues.

The PR Manager – reports to the Director of PR, South of Latin America.

In addition, the Manager must:
• Have experience working on global teams and managing PR campaigns
• Understand how to build and maintain relationships with key journalists and different kinds of influencers on behalf of Netflix
• Be capable of serving as a company spokesperson in different cultural and media milieus.
• Really loves entertainment...being a TV, movie or Netflix junkie is even better
• Speak fluent Spanish (native speaker) and English with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Be able to function autonomously and effectively as part of a loosely coupled, but highly-aligned team
• Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out

Qualifications:
• The successful candidate for the role will likely possess 10+ years in a corporate or agency setting
• Candidates with broad knowledge of TV or entertainment, pop culture & lifestyle trends, etc., in general, and in Argentina, are preferred
• Direct experience with technology and/or entertainment businesses is also highly relevant
