Role: Manager, Innovation & Technology, Public Policy

Location: Preferably India but open to other locations in APAC for the right candidate.

The Opportunity: The Netflix legal and public policy team is a highly talented and experienced group of lawyers and public policy experts who work in close partnership with their business counterparts to advance the strategic goals of the company. The team is perceived within the company as solutions-oriented and as a welcome part of the Netflix business team.

The public policy team is seeking a Manager of Innovation & Technology Public Policy. The Manager will be a key member of the Global Public Policy team, both supporting other team members in defining and achieving and the company's public policy objectives and taking direct responsibility for a variety of projects related to those objectives.

The manager will work across all regions around the world, including supporting the policy team on issues that are currently popping up in the EU, Korea, Indonesia, Ukraine, Chile, and more. Initially, the Manager should expect to spend about 8-12 hours per week on Indian policy issues; and the rest on policy issues in other markets.

In general, the Manager will work with peers in countries around the world to write policy briefs, meet with policy makers, monitor legislative and regulatory initiatives, and communicate with stakeholders and partners. The Manager will also work internally with colleagues on the product and engineering teams, as well as legal and communications, to provide sound advice.

The manager will also support issues where IP policy intersects with tech policy, such as data use in artificial intelligence.

Qualifications

The candidate should have at least 5 years of public policy experience, which could include working for a company, government agency, or non-governmental agency. Successful candidates will have experience working with advocacy organizations and navigating regulatory and legislative bodies.

The Manager's role will focus on innovation and technology public policy issues around the world related to payments and fintech regulation, as well as data and privacy policy. Experience and expertise in these public policy areas is required.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the payments and data space.
