Manager, Experimentation Platform - Engineering

Job Description

A culture of experimentation and data-informed decision making allows Netflix to continuously evolve and improve our product, delivering more joy to existing members and attracting new members from around the globe. This position sits at the nerve center of experimentation at Netflix: our internal Experimentation Platform (XP for short), which provides flexible solutions for designing, launching, and analyzing experiments, and archiving results.

Because experimentation is so pervasive at Netflix, those working on XP are exposed to challenges, and get to collaborate with colleagues, from all corners of Netflix. It's a great way to learn broadly about 'how Netflix works' from a variety of perspectives.

We're looking for a manager to lead the Configuration Team within XP. This team owns beta testing, test allocation systems, experimentation administration UI, as well as our emerging feature flag platform. You can think of the team charter as enabling developers setting up A/B tests with the ambition to grow into owning the entire end-to-end experimenter developer experience at Netflix!

About the opportunity
• Lead a dream team of software and UI engineers, empowering and growing the team by providing them with context and continuous feedback.
• Act as an ambassador for experimentation across the company broadly, with a focus on engineering excellence.
• Build strong relationships across the business through collaborative engineering partnerships.
• Lead the vision and technical roadmap for our next generation feature flag infrastructure, and related automation platforms, that expand the power of our experimentation practice.
• Effectively prioritize and manage our roadmaps for experiment setup and allocation systems, in alignment with the overall business needs, maintaining focus on reliability.
• As a Netflix-wide platform, you'll constantly support and onboard emerging initiatives at Netflix to help them run their first experiments.

We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location.

The overall market range for this role is typically $310,000 - 1,200,000.
