We make content that brings global communities together over shared passions, and we make sure that Netflix is on the pulse of conversation among fans.

We're looking for a Manager, Editorial & Publishing (Editor-in-Chief) to lead the programming of our editorial calendar across our channels, and lead our writers' rooms to shape raw ideas into amazing creative that gets fans talking.

What is The Swoon?

The Swoon is Netflix's community for global fans of K-content-we are by the fans, for the fans, and we are here to celebrate the stories and the talent that are so beloved around the world. Since launching in 2019, The Swoon has grown across multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram), and will continue to expand its reach.

Responsibilities
• Lead the programming of our editorial calendar across channels with a long-lead view. Think strategically about how to keep our content fresh and make sure it aligns with The Swoon's overall strategy.
• Manage the creation of assets from ideation to execution. Lead daily staff meetings and brainstorm sessions, manage a team of creators hands-on, give relevant notes and ensure that content is published in a timely manner. Establish best workflow practices and manage teams of freelancers and vendors.
• Lead editors, writers, and producers to develop and sharpen their creative for voice, narrative, and editorial angles. You're the one asking the room: What is the angle? Why are we telling this story? Does this piece of creative get our message across?
• Develop repeatable editorial frameworks and features. Your role is not to come up with one post at a time, but rather repeatable series and frameworks that the teams can run with and create multiple iterations of.
• Cultivate cross-functional relationships to ensure you have the best information and the ability to gain traction on your strategies and ideas.
• Stay on top of trends, timely events, and upcoming title launches to seize on reactive opportunities. Identify editorial angles for titles and topics that are relevant to global Hallyu fans.

Qualifications
• Have at least 7+ years of experience as an editor, writer, creator.
• Experience leading an editorial team and making creative decisions is a must.
• A deep passion for K-dramas. You understand what makes K-dramas tick and why people around the world love them so deeply. As a fan, you are attuned to what sparks a connection between a show and its fandom. You live for that spark.
• You're a storyteller at heart. But you also know how to balance audience interests with the needs of our business, and you know how to look beyond personal taste.
• Demonstrated success in leading an editorial team.
• A strong people manager with an emphasis on building diverse and inclusive teams
• Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional content in a multi-channel environment
• Analytical and able to make programming decisions based on insights and intuition
• Innovative. You have strong creative instincts and they're so spot on that people copy what you make. You see a piece of content and know how to make it better, and how to communicate that to a team of creatives. You love making people laugh and feel connected to one another over their shared passion.
• Bilingual English/Korean
