Job Description

This role is unique. So is the right candidate.

Are you a storyteller who thinks broadly about creative possibilities with talent? Do you live and breathe internet culture and have a knack for discovering new people and trends? Do you have a deep passion for working with talent and enjoy finding the common space of what they love and what you're marketing? If so, this role is for you.

We are Netflix's Editorial & Publishing (E&P) team. A team of storytellers, social media strategists, creators, producers and journalists but above all were die-hard entertainment fans. Our mission is to build the most influential entertainment media and publishing network that brings joy to our members all around the world.
On this team, we make content to promote our content and we are always looking for ways to deepen our audience's connection to their favorite Netflix titles. We bring communities together over shared passions and help our fans discover new shows, films and celebrities they love. Though part of the larger marketing organization, our team's work is unique in that we express a perspective on content the way an editorial media outlet would.

In this role you will be a key contributor in developing, executing and managing talent strategy for various sub brands across Netflix's social media platforms globally. You will be a member of a small and nimble group of talent and creative development professionals in our Los Angeles office. This role reports to the Director of Development & Planning in the Editorial & Publishing organization.

This role is equal parts creative strategy and relationship cultivation. You will be a thought partner to our Creative Development leads who are responsible for content creation across Netflix brand channels, Netflix Is A Joke, Geeked, Netflix Films, Strong Black Lead, Most, ConTodo, The Swoon, Muy Netflix, Queue, Netflix Jr., Netflix Anime, Futures and Netflix Family. You will be hands-on in developing concepts with talent in mind as well as strategizing for outreach and aiding in the process of booking talent for these verticals. You'll be brainstorming new ways to use our talent to talk about our series and films, both locally and with Netflix originals around the world. You are comfortable operating within the traditions of the entertainment industry, but are keen to champion news ideas and excel at building consensus and trust with talent for big swings. You strive for excellence in your own interactions with talent and you seek to bring efficiency to the process of how talent is engaged in your organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Aid in driving talent strategy across Netflix's Editorial & Publishing verticals. Partner with the Creative Development team to generate concepts based on talent strengths and aid in the efficiency of talent booking.
• Create robust talent strategies for top tier priorities across all E&P channels to present holistically to internal stakeholders and representatives
• Drive alignment conversations with Netflix internal partners on long-term talent relationships and develop strategies to support these relationships across E&P
• Develop and maintain efficiencies for information dissemination to E&P stakeholders for series and films, specifically as it relates to highlighting talent in priority titles
• Contribute to best practices for hiring and paying talent for their work with our organization.
• Solicit conversations with agents and managers to discover new talent to work across Netflix's editorial and publishing organization. Distribute casting and creative concept information to external partners.
• Manage talent requests with internal stakeholders for large initiatives like Pride, Netflix Geeked Week, Heritage months, Cons, etc
• Partner on the continued evolution for content capture days with Publicity and Marketing including marketing shoots, on-set experiences and junkets
• Attend shoots and other production events as needed to provide on-set talent support to ensure a successful experience

The ideal candidate is/has:
• 8+ years experience in a talent-facing entertainment media role, ideally with experience in content creation
• Deep knowledge of the global editorial landscape & social platforms with the ability to strategize for talent against a variety of mediums (photo, AV, print, podcasts, etc)
• A penchant for creative excellence and a proven track record of collaboration to strengthen concepts
• Successful and highly regarded partner with the industry's top talent and their publicists, agents, and managers
• A no-ego collaborator who jumps in, gets their hands dirty and prioritizes the team's goals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working directly with talent and talent representation. Skilled in pitching/presenting with the ability to read the room.
• Entrepreneurial spirit that seeks to conquer uncharted territory. Not afraid of ambiguity and excited at the opportunity to pave a new path.
• Instinctively thinking about inclusivity and having a strong POV on how to craft storytelling for all audiences
• Comfortable working to strict deadlines and finding solutions under pressure
• Someone that seeks operational excellence, including the ability to problem-solve and bring scale to both their individual work and the work of the team
• A strong sense of self-evaluation and a commitment to uplifting and educating those around them
• Respect and understanding for Netflix culture
