iOS Test and Automation Engineer (E5) - Games SDK Team

Our members already enjoy TV series, documentaries, and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages. With our recent launch of mobile games, they can also play a collection of Netflix curated and produced games.

As a member of the Netflix Games SDK team, you will work with developers to evaluate and improve the quality of the iOS version of our Games SDK. This role will focus on the quality of both the experience that game developers will have when integrating the SDK into their games and the experience of Netflix customers using SDK functionality in games.

In the role of iOS Test and Automation Engineer, you will help the SDK team create a world class experience for the game developers who integrate our SDK into their mobile games.

Location of Work

For this role, we are considering candidates who are willing to relocate to Los Gatos, California, as well as fully-remote candidates working within the U.S with occasional visits to Los Gatos

What responsibilities will you assume?
• Contributing to the overall quality strategy for the SDK team.
• Owning and driving requirements gathering and risk identification.
• Driving test development, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure.
• Coordinating responsible test areas with colleagues.
• Contributing to test games and sample code that integrate and utilize the SDK.
• Identifying ways to improve the overall game development experience, by examining the process holistically and incrementally optimizing it over time.
• Collaborating closely with Netflix developers, automation experts, partner engineers and game producers throughout the process of rolling out new functionality to game developers.

• Mobile games testing experience, with exceptional iOS testing skills.
• Experience translating requirements into effective test cases.
• Comfortable with some degree of uncertainty and ambiguity. The Netflix games platform is evolving quickly as we learn what drives member joy in the gaming space.
• Developer Empathy. You have a deep understanding of game development and great intuition around how to craft APIs for game developers.
• Self-motivated. You proactively look for solutions to bridge the needs of the business with technology.
• Strong analytical skills. You are adept at analyzing data to gain insights that drive improvements in app quality.

What skills are important to us?
• Expertise in either Objective C or Swift.
• Experience writing automated tests and using them to power short feedback cycles in a continuous integration environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience developing mobile games using Unity game services is a plus.
