HTML Email Developer (L5) - Messaging

The Netflix Messaging Engineering Experiences team builds the messages to communicate with Netflix members across their entire lifecycle. Our messaging portfolio ranges from acquisition to on-boarding and pricing to recommendations. We send messages across both outbound and in-app messaging channels, including email, push notifications, sms, in-app notifications and in-app interstitials that reach members across a variety of devices.

At Netflix, messaging is part of the core Netflix product. We are unique in the Netflix product as one of few teams that can speak to our customers outside of the Netflix app.
On this team, you will partner with product management, design, and data analysts to help shape and drive the direction of the product. Your passionate ideas are encouraged and expected.

Technical Skills needed for the role:
• Strong Responsive & Interactive HTML Email Development experience
• Experience developing reusable, templated frameworks
• Front end web development experience including:
• JavaScript
• CSS, SASS/LESS
• HTML
• Proficient in code versioning tools such as Git
• Knowledge in A/B testing and post-campaign analysis
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing across multiple browsers, platforms, and email clients
• Solid understanding of email best practices
• Experience working with product development teams
• Experience building In-Product messaging flows
• Experience with localization systems and internationalization best practices for email/messaging
• Experience utilizing UI design tools such as Sketch or Figma, with a strong sense of web design and UX fundamentals

Nice to Have:
• Experience with React and Typescript is a plus.
• Experience with frontend development build tools like Yarn/NPM, Library bundler like Bili/Rollup/Webpack, etc
• Experience in Java
• Experience with query languages such as SQL, Presto, etc.
• Experience building messaging experiences using Push Notifications
• Experience working with other messaging channels such as SMS and messaging apps

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $90,000 - 900,000
