Job Description
With over 222 million paid memberships in more than 190 countries, Netflix is changing the way we tell and share stories across the globe. We continue to grow rapidly in APAC, creating TV series, films, and documentaries in a diverse range of countries and languages across the region. As we scale, grow our employee population, and open offices in multiple countries, evolving our unique culture and way of operating becomes increasingly challenging. With that, we need a strong Talent team to partner closely with each of our business functions to support and challenge them as they work to drive even more growth in the region.
Our Talent Partners (TPs) are the primary partners providing guidance, coaching and advice to first line managers and individual contributors. They act as a consultant to support talent management practices with the team (onboarding, performance management, development, team health and culture). This position will partner to a cross-section of teams based in our Japan
office. The focus of the TP role is to increase manager capability, driving manager education on people programs, coaching and influence through a commercial and inclusive lens as we scale and accomplish amazing things. Some of the functions they will work with have regional leaders based in Japan. This person will closely partner with the Talent team based in other countries, ensuring close communication and insights are shared to inform decision making.
The Ideal Candidate
In this role, leading, demonstrating, and modeling the Netflix culture is top priority. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence others and to think creatively about solutions. The right person for this role must have a passion for the business and be driven to accomplish and meet objectives. This position is responsible for providing wise counsel (not HR best practices for HR's sake) to the business and successfully influencing and supporting strategies to meet our business objectives.
They will embody our culture through their behavior and interactions and be willing to invite and promote constructive feedback and help create an inclusive workplace. They know instinctively when to engage subject matter specialists in Talent Acquisition, Employment Legal, I&D, and L&D, not as an escalation to solve an issue but as a trusted partner that will enhance the reputation of Talent as a whole through the guidance and counsel we give. The role requires deep partnership with country-based and global HR partners and should be adept at cross-functional partnership and communication.
Experience
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of progressive human resources experience in the media/tech industry partnering with managers on full employment life cycle touch points. This person should have strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, well-developed coaching, communication, and leadership skills, project management and must be fluent in English and Japanese. It is a plus if this candidate has prior experience working in matrixed organizations.
Netflix Japan will not accept unsolicited resumes or applications from recruitment agencies, and we will not be responsible for any related fees. Please do not forward resumes to our career page or employees.
