Role

The Japan country marketing head is a visionary that brings seasoned creative and digital experience, leadership, inspiration and expertise to all marketing disciplines within Japan (social marketing, marketing partnerships, title marketing). Leveraging their skill for cross-functional excellence they work closely with all constituents (content, product, partnerships) to develop and execute long term marketing plans that help achieve our strategy and ladder up to our overall purpose to entertain the world. The Senior Director of Japan country marketing will lead the team responsible for strategy, title selection and prioritization, campaign planning (both import and export), creative development, filmmaker / talent relations as it pertains to marketing, injecting our brand into the cultural conversation, campaign execution and breakthrough ideation that is social and digital at its core. The marketing head is also responsible for seeking opportunities for content to travel outside of their home country where necessary by making their campaigns highly exportable. They will also form part of a country leadership team and be additive to the diversity of thought on to our regional marketing team.

Experience
• A history of leadership. You have a successful track record in recruiting and leading a world class team, serving as a key marketing decision maker and business leader
• Consumer marketing know-how. You understand consumer marketing (preferably in the entertainment space) and know how to set strategy and then execute flawlessly
• Depth of knowledge on entertainment and the local market. You have considerable experience in a marketing leadership role in Japan. You are an innovative, long-term thinker and you bring a deep understanding of the Japanese entertainment landscape with a demonstrated understanding of live-action and/or anime content marketing
• Digital expertise. You deeply understand digital marketing and have demonstrated experience launching unique digital campaigns.
• Self starter. You operate independently, are comfortable making and being accountable for big decisions, and are motivated by an internal drive for excellence
• Concise and clear communication. Your native Japanese is impeccable and you are a highly effective communicator. Strong proficiency in English is a plus.
• Culture role model. You can thrive in our unique culture and are excited to help us evolve and improve it in the Japanese context
