As the company constantly strives to entertain the world, we are searching for a seasoned compliance professional to head our global trade compliance function (ideally within commutable proximity to one of our California offices).

In this role, you will lead a growing global team of trade compliance professionals responsible for ensuring that Netflix can fulfill its mission of entertaining the world. We are the people behind the scenes making sure that our worldwide productions can import and export whatever cool props (like this kaido car) they need to make the next great show for your friends and family to watch. And that the technology and devices (like these) you need to stream the latest Netflix global hit (hello Squid Game) are classified properly. In short, we partner with the business to quickly get an incredible breadth of technologies and goods where they need to be in a manner consistent with applicable laws and regulations where we do business.

Responsibilities:
• Assess, update and execute the global trade compliance strategy for one of the world's leading streaming entertainment services.
• Work cooperatively and proactively with senior functional leaders to ensure compliance with all relevant export, customs, sanctions, laws, and regulations.
• Ensure business-critical trade compliance infrastructure and resources are prioritized as part of the broader program requirements (e.g., screening, training program, audits, internal risk assessment, valuation, classification).
• Develop and deliver enterprise-wide data and metrics to monitor trade operations, compliance and performance.
• Utilize predictive analytics to detect patterns, identify risks/opportunities and support strategic business decisions.
• Lead efforts to implement workflow automation to eliminate manual/repetitive tasks and create more efficient and scalable trade compliance processes.
• Ensure optimal effectiveness of the company's GTM system.
• Build and develop a high-performing regionalized trade compliance team.
• Oversee the application of critical global trade regulatory actions and customs rules on complex business operations to ensure risk-tolerant, innovative, business solution approaches to trade compliance.
• Develop scenario modeling platforms to monitor and quantify the impact of changes in trade regulations, trade policies, and customs laws, for example modeling the impact of Brexit, trade wars, and tariff updates.

Requirements:
• 10+ years of trade compliance experience working in multinational exporting corporations or organizations (including experience building and leading a global team)
• Subject matter expertise supporting US-based companies from abroad in multiple global regions (APAC, EMEA, LATAM)
• Exceptional builder of strong and collaborative stakeholder relationships
• Demonstrated ability to implement innovative automation solutions, plus robust risk assessment and management capabilities
