Director, Content Financial Planning & Analysis - Animation

The Content Strategy & Analysis group is looking for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Original Animation. This role will be a critical and integrated business partner to the Original Animation content team and be responsible for financial planning and analytics for the company's rapidly expanding animation programming initiatives. This position will reside within the company's Los Angeles office.

This person will have a high degree of visibility with senior management within the organization. Senior leaders depend heavily on the Content Financial Planning & Analysis group to accurately budget and forecast the business as well as lead analysis that is used to inform important business decisions.

Responsibilities
• Support near-term and long-term Expense, Cash and Headcount forecasts for Content Teams focused on production of Original Animation films and series as well as acquisition of kids and family content.
• Work closely with senior creative executives within the content organization to translate strategic initiatives into a multi-year roadmap with complete cost and capital requirements.
• Provide recommendations on how to adjust future spending to track towards investment goals across content categories.
• Plan and forecast programming flow and utilize analytics to plan for long-term programming health across markets.
• Prepare dynamic scenario analysis to facilitate discussion and offer informed recommendations when faced with economic trade-offs.
• Prepare quarterly guidance and financial update materials for Content leads and Corporate FP&A team to identify potential shortfalls or surpluses and help prioritize spend.
• Improve workflows to scale with the growth in original productions and commissions.
• Develop KPIs, metrics and dashboards to understand current and future programming mix.
• Develop and manage the manager(s), associate(s) on the financial planning & analysis team: establish priorities, set objectives, and provide guidance and feedback.

Qualifications
• 12-15+ years of relevant experience. Prior experience in Media / Entertainment Financial Planning & Analysis required, and knowledge of the Animation business is preferred.
• Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis and delivering actionable recommendations based on this analysis.
• Extensive experience conducting and communicating quantitative and qualitative financial analysis. Superior proficiency with complex financial modeling and Excel and PowerPoint.
• Candidates are required to have strong communication and presentation skills with a track record of presenting detailed financial information and analytics to executives and senior management clearly and concisely.
• The successful candidate must display initiative in anticipating and meeting or exceeding the business demands of senior-level executives. He/She must thrive in a fast-paced environment and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.

• Experience leading and building teams.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation
• Must have proficiency working with systems and automated reporting tools (i.e., Hyperion, SAP, Workday financials, etc.).
