Job Description

At Netflix Animation Studios (NAS), we want to produce animated titles across every taste and geography to bring joy to our current and future subscribers. We believe the experience creating the content should create as much joy for our employees as watching it does for our subscribers and we are determined to create a candidate and employee experience that enables that.
Our Animation Talent Effectiveness & Operations (Animation TEO) team will be responsible for cultivating these experiences.

As Director, Animation TEO, you will be a highly valued addition to our Animation HR leadership team reporting directly to the Head of HR for Netflix Animation, but will build strategies and solutions for the Broader Netflix HR Operations team in addition to NAS. You will oversee the strategy and implementation of key workflows, programs, and tools that enable the broader Animation Talent team to work efficiently and focus on achieving a scale in animation that is unprecedented.

The ideal candidate:
• You are an experienced leader who has successfully built operational support teams within dynamic environments (production, high-tech manufacturing, retail) and can use that experience to act as the architect of sorts for Netflix as we build out NAS and eventually similar divisions/business units. You will have a love and passion for animation and an understanding of the people who are essential to making it. You will have strong learning agility and demonstrable curiosity. You will have a passion for storytelling with data and have experience using large and disconnected data sets to help leaders make better decisions.
• In order to deliver a better employee experience, NAS's Human Resource function is centralizing its Operations across the entire employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will also:
• Establish the overall Animation TEO team strategy and operating model by overseeing development and management of a scalable global HR service model, workflows and tools that balance candidate and employee experience with compliance and legal requirements, and drive team performance through clear vision and accountability.
• Partner with teams across NAS to assess existing HR programs, workflows, and practices. Identify gaps and inefficiencies, and drive innovative solutions and process improvements to enhance the employee experience across all geographies.
• Proactively identify and create operational efficiencies through centralized administration.
• Lead operational support and partnerships with foundational teams (HR Business Partners, Benefits, Compensation, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, L&OD, Finance, Legal, Product Team etc) to work on all HR-related workflows.
• This leader will need to use a ''product manager'' mindset to design a mobile servicing approach with clear points of entry into HR, clear escalation paths, and clear SLAs and outcomes.
• Passionate about driving large-scale implementations requiring process changes, project management, and change management. Ability to influence and lead diverse stakeholders.
• Partner with Talent Analytics and related teams to design and develop appropriate measures and metrics that guide our operations and ensure the most effective candidate and employee experience.

• Having a strong HR foundation, specifically in HR operations and systems implementation will be necessary to lead a team of new and experienced professionals.
• Having led large multi-jurisdiction change management efforts will enable this individual to anticipate the challenges ahead of us.
• Being able to think systemically will help this individual create solutions that scale and flex to the specific needs of the diversity of shows and geographies.
• A strong foundation on a variety of tools, frameworks, and methodologies will enable the ideal candidate to develop approaches that fit the needs of NAS.
• Practical knowledge of labor laws and familiarity with working in production and union environments (specifically entertainment) is preferred.
