Job Description

We are seeking a highly quantitative, driven, and intellectually curious data analyst to join the Corporate SP&A team. The Corporate SP&A team at Netflix is responsible for company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis. We derive a significant competitive advantage from the highly analytical approach we take to managing the company, and the Corporate SP&A team plays a key role in this area. Senior management heavily depends on the Corporate SP&A group to accurately track trends in performance and identify opportunities for improvement, and the outcome of our group's analyses plays a critical role in the important and strategic decision making for the company.

The analyst will serve as a data-guru for the Corporate SP&A team, supporting a wide range of data and analysis requests related to Netflix's operating expenses and headcount growth. A successful candidate will be naturally data curious, experienced in improving the availability and usability of data, and excited about creating sustainable reporting. Ideal candidates enjoy problem-solving, building solutions, delivering actionable and data-driven insights, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The position is based in our Los Gatos office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing tools and analysis to support decision-making related to how fast we should be growing our expenses and our investment in our internal workforce across all departments and geographies
• Performing data analysis and developing insightful dashboards, memos & presentations that summarize the data
• Acting as the bridge between business teams and technical teams to gather tooling and data requirements
• Collaborating with the Data Science & Engineering team to improve our data ecosystem over time, including the data itself and the tools that will help us to scale analytics
• Creating and maintaining data documentation both for an internal, technical audience and for partner user teams
• Developing efficient ways for non-technical stakeholders to access and work with large data sets

Qualifications
• 3 - 6 years of experience in a highly analytical environment (e.g. management consulting, corporate analytics, strategy and operations, or other roles requiring a blend of analytical, strategic, and cross-functional work)
• Hands-on experience with SQL
• An ability to coordinate cross-functional projects and/or prior project management experience.
• Experience working with Business Insights tools like Tableau
• Expertise with spreadsheet-based tools like Google Sheets or Excel
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize information across a broad ecosystem to diagnose problems and devise solutions
• Comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive with minimal oversight and process, while keeping leadership informed on progress against deadlines
• Strong communicator; able to collaborate and maintain relationships with partners on both business teams and the Data Science & Engineering team
• Bachelor's Degree. Preferably in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative field

Nice to haves
• Experience working with programming languages (e.g. Python)
• Previous experience working with financial and/or headcount related data
