The opportunity

As Netflix continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a talented team member to join the Data Privacy and Security Legal team. In this role, you will support the Director for Privacy & Security and have an opportunity to work on engaging projects. You will work in collaboration with members of the legal team on a range of privacy and security-related legal matters.

The position is based in Amsterdam, reporting to the Director for Privacy & Security Legal, EMEA.

Responsibilities:
• Support the Director for Privacy & Security Legal, EMEA with various privacy, security and law enforcement related matters, including helping manage regulatory responses, advising the business, as well as vendor contract issues related to privacy and security, including templates, workflows, and negotiation escalations, and adapting compliance practices proactively
• Support the Director for Privacy & Security Legal, EMEA in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and related privacy guidelines
• Review, triage and investigate complex privacy inquiries and draft responses to provide high-quality customer support and timely solutions to build customer trust
• Maintain and improve internal processes and documentation for customer privacy/data protection and law enforcement inquiries
• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex privacy inquiries
• Review data disclosure productions in response to subject access and law enforcement requests

Requirements:
• At least 3+ years' experience handling privacy, data protection, and security legal issues with excellence.
• Experience in the entertainment and/or technology industries, as well as in-house legal work, is a plus.
• A working knowledge of EMEA privacy and security laws and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including patience and an ability to explain legal requirements clearly and effectively, and a great sense of humor
• Superior organizational skills, extraordinary attention to detail, and a mindset that processes can always be improved or eliminated if no longer relevant
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight schedules in a very fast-paced environment, with competing priorities while using impeccable judgment
• Possess situational awareness to identify and escalate matters that require urgent attention
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review data, identify trends, and present them to others
• Experience responding to privacy-related questions and rights requests from consumers preferred
• Experience responding to law enforcement requests preferred
• Ability to maintain a positive, constructive attitude in ambiguous situations and to manage complexity and high pressure in a productive manner
• Ability to work in an open, feedback-driven culture
• Proficiency in Excel and the Google suite of applications in a business environment (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive etc.)
• Extra points for language skills, especially if you are also fluent in French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and/or Turkish
