THE OPPORTUNITY

Netflix seeks a seasoned entertainment attorney to join a growing business & legal affairs team focused on the development and production of animated event series for the whole family. The candidate will be primarily responsible for drafting and negotiating above-the-line talent agreements. In addition, as the main legal contact for productions, the candidate will collaborate with and ensure information flow to internal business partners (e.g., creative and production), cross-functional partners (e.g., intellectual property, employment, labor, tax, marketing and consumer products), and other key partners (e.g., finance, contract administration, legal operations). The candidate must be comfortable challenging norms and finding ways to create efficiencies for this high volume team.

The ideal candidate must be adept in counseling and collaborating with internal and external business partners, attorneys, producers, and production partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impact. Excellent drafting and communication skills, as well as a keen eye for detail, are a must. The ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to be part of a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial organization and thrive working in a global environment. Experience in animation is a plus, but is not required.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have at least four to six years of transactional entertainment legal experience working at a streamer/network/studio, production company, or law firm. Film and/or TV experience is required.
