The Opportunity

The Netflix legal and public policy team is a highly talented and experienced group of lawyers and public policy experts who work in close partnership with their business counterparts to advance the strategic goals of the company.

The SEAL team is a hub for research, economic analysis, campaign development and stakeholder engagement which helps to advance the advocacy led by our policy colleagues around the world. We're looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team and support our work.

This is a great opportunity to work with a global team on a wide range of policy issues. We thrive on being creative and innovative in our approach. The successful candidate will be able to combine great organisational skills with flexibility, and possess a good knowledge of policy areas which are relevant to a company like Netflix. They should also be comfortable with working with think tanks, research centres, publishers and creative agencies in different countries. Curiosity, innovation and communication are traits that would be very valuable in this role.

Responsibilities include:
• Research to support our projects: tabletop research to help us determine gaps or needs. Researching and identifying potential stakeholders, speakers for panels and organisations for us to connect with.
• Managing agencies, consultants and other vendors: interviewing and shortlisting potential consultants, researchers and agencies; contracts, invoices, working with them to ensure deliverables, targets and goals are met.
• Project managing the design and publication process of whitepapers, reports and other creative output: getting internal resources in line to support this. (e.g. following up on whitepaper progress with researchers, ensuring that drafts are circulated to the right people internally, collating internal data and other support (like setting up interviews)); drafting forewords, executive summaries, proofreading, editing etc.; working with publication houses, designers etc to finalise the publications.
• Drafting blog posts, talking points and presentations for the team.
• Managing databases of contacts, stakeholders, researchers and industry connections.
• Tracking, monitoring and reviewing publications and research from relevant third party research organisations.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
• Two to three years of professional experience as a paralegal or working in a policy environment.
• A graduate degree in policy or legal studies with demonstrable experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research.
• Excellent writing, proofreading and editorial skills.
• A commitment to embrace and advocate for inclusion is essential.
