Job Description

The Original Independent and Family Film team at Netflix is dedicated to telling global stories that represent our audiences as well as the diverse talent both in front of and behind the camera. We are seeking a Production Coordinator to support the Production Management (Physical Production) team in Original Independent Films. This position would focus on an increasing slate of original films from pre-production through delivery, working closely with producers, third party production companies, freelance crews and our cross-functional teams within Netflix.

The Role

A successful candidate will be passionate about production, self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, thorough and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and communication.

Responsibilities:
• ­In concert with the lead Production executive, serve as the production contact across development, pre­-production and production to ensure partners successfully deliver films to Netflix within the approved schedule and budget parameters. The department manages a target slate of 50+ films per year
• Work with cross-­functional teams at Netflix to ensure that films are successfully delivered and positioned for success. This includes, but is not limited to, executives from Creative, Finance, Post-Production, Production Safety, Production HR, VFX, Music, and Marketing
• Coordinate the onboarding process for production companies, freelance producers and production crews to the Netflix ecosystem, tools and resources
• Create, update and proactively maintain both inward- and outward-facing production resources and documents
• Schedule and maintain internal and external meetings that act as a bridge between productions and internal Netflix teams to ensure both sides receive pertinent updates in a timely manner
• ­In collaboration with interdepartmental Netflix production teams, develop and update physical production ''best practices'' and refine our film production guidelines to deliver to filmmakers, as well as work with the Production Manager to ensure those guidelines are followed
• Participate in the building of new systems that advance production technology and streamline workflows for the Production organization and external partners.

Qualifications:
• Passion for the filmmaking process 

• 5 years hands­-on experience in production, ideally with experience having worked as a Production Secretary, Assistant or Production Coordinator, supporting a Line Producer or Production Executive, or working in support of a project management company or professional
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, acting proactively and able to handle a fast paced environment
• Familiar with day to day operations of a scripted production office and general understanding of current production trends, and a willingness to continue learning to ensure keeping pace with developments in this process. 

• Willingness to travel to productions as needed
• Ability to respond to important, timely or urgent matters across a global / international slate of movies 

• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information 

• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi­task 

• Proficiency in: Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Mail
