Job Description
We are seeking a Cataloguer/Researcher to join our growing Studio Operations team. This position will be responsible for coordinating locations records housed within our Netflix locations repository. Do you have the mind of a detective, the soul of a scout and the heart of a librarian?

This is an amazing opportunity to use both a heavily creative and analytical mind! Our cataloguer/researcher will help sift through global locations images assets and assign corresponding metadata--description, categories, a controlled vocabulary and more while simultaneously coordinating materials to help us streamline our workflow--prioritizing data and making sure we're aware of what we have when we need it--maybe even before we need it.

The Role

An ideal candidate is highly organized, intuitively engaged and knows how to communicate well in person and via electronics. This person asks questions--all questions, any questions--in a centralized, organized way--when they have them (and they know it's good to have them!). They manage their time well regardless of what comes up--because something will always come up and they know how to create solutions by analyzing data, user-experience and analytics. This is a job about solving problems before most people even realize they have one and offering what people want--even if they tell you they want something else.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• A strong understanding of digital asset management systems, both front and back end, (and the willingness to learn a new one).
• The ability to quickly research both interior Netflix-archival systems as well as online resources, to pull missing or absent metadata to create complete locations records (combined with the knowledge of when to move on).
• Locations or scouting experience of any kind is highly desirable!
• Comfort in developing, maintaining and editing taxonomies in a strategic, thoughtful way (an interest in design, architecture or technical scouting wouldn't hurt either!).
• Following and contributing to multiple platforms to source and compile information and create necessary crosswalks and communicate in real time to keep information current and maintain alignment between stunning colleagues..
• Impeccable attention to detail to ensure flawless review of cataloging records, ingestion materials, supporting trackers and spreadsheets.
• Accustomed to working in a fast paced environment, able to multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
• Day to day locations database needs and functions studio side and external
• Willingness to contribute effectively and transparently; adapting and embracing change with enthusiasm
• Any other duties as necessary to support the productions and the department.

Qualifications
• 5+ years experience in digital asset management/developing and improving digital asset management systems
• Experience in large scale data migration (metadata, assets, etc.)
• Ability to take requests and intuitively provide potentially unspecified results
• Masters in Library and Information Sciences preferred, but not required, job-based experience will be considered.
• Team player with an ability to supervise multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
• Access to high quality vendors, and production facilities contacts.
• Ability to respond after hours for important, timely or urgent manners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
• Willingness to take educated risks and think out of the box.
