Weather Content Producer - Local TV Stations

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Create engaging weather graphics for Max and Lynx, especially augmented reality graphics, for use by our weather teams presenting and explaining the weather and climate change
• Conduct the operation of the NBCU Forecast System, ensuring reliable delivery of all data to our weather teams and creating new exclusive products
• Curate our internal graphic and data sharing platform, highlighting key contributions and connecting our teams to assets they need
• Collaborate with our weather teams on new ways to communicate weather and climate change stories, including unique graphics and data
• Cultivate and integrate new sources of weather data and other content for use by our teams

Qualifications

Desired qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree - meteorology, atmospheric science, and/or graphic design or a related field preferred
• Experience producing, creating, and/or delivering video weather/climate change presentations on broadcast or digital platforms
• Proficiency with The Weather Company Max and/or Baron Weather Lynx graphics systems
• Experience creating graphics using tools such as 3D Studio/3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects or Substance, Blender, or Maya
• Experience managing weather datasets and/or running and maintaining weather models or model ensembles
• Strong communications and leadership skills, thriving under pressure and striving to win the big weather story every day
• AMS CBM/Seal and/or NWA Seal is a plus

Additional information:
• Work location is negotiable; candidates may work remotely or be based at one of our stations on a space-available basis
• Work hours are negotiable; however, some shifts may be assigned to support high-impact events in our markets
• Some work-related travel (10% or less) may be required
• This is NOT an on-air position

Eligibility Requirements:

Salary Range is $60,000 - $80,000
