Job Description
Responsibilities
The VP News Production provide strategic project management vision and support for all news operative projects; responsible for managing projects from conceptual stage through to launch timelines, task, and reporting while having strong news editorial judgement

Job Duties
• Partners with news business, creative, production, operation and supporting management teams to oversee project management, planning, and all operational aspects of scoping requirements
• Supervise integration of production technology to compliment editorial content and innovate news shows
• Oversee all studios and field operations for all news productions, including but not limited to broadcasting and streaming needs
• Provide strategic vision for continued business development in key areas, such as asset management, consistent process workflows, technology initiatives and other systems, providing strong technical and operational leadership in a fast paced, production environment
• Work with operations and technology teams to implement solutions that are consistent with NBCU news goals
• Build strong brand partnerships and ensure that the group is functionally aligned with brand strategy
• Supervises all news production status in connection with technical requirements, financial status, operative needs, and timelines
• Manages all third-party productions operations from the creation of the initial contract and estimates to the delivery of the final product
• Liaison of all communication between the business and other business units including network, NBCU, stations, etc.
• Responsible for the operative news strategy and execution of all production in US, Mexico, and other countries
• Supervises all production processes to measure and analyze productivity and recommends process improvement and initiatives
• Works under the direct supervision of the EVP Telemundo News and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in communication/television and news broadcasting
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience
• BI-lingual (English/Spanish) required both written and verbal

Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to provide references from previous employers if requested
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
• Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID_19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVD-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Must have prior experience and complete knowledge and understanding of news editorial process
• Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment
• Proven experience in broadcast production and electronic newsgathering operation
• Proven experience managing large teams, and projects
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment
• Complete knowledge of production and field operations as well as the newest technologies available for broadcast and streaming news content.
• Effective self-starter with the proven ability to generate and produce news stories and enterprise stories
• Strong understanding of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including a current knowledge of laws of libel and slander
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired
• Creative and highly organized
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of non-linear editing and shooting workflow
• Experience being actively engaged in editorial processes and meetings
