Responsibilities:
• The Vice President, Media Relations, Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) will have responsibilities across the UFEG portfolio with a specific focus with the motion picture group.
• The VP will manage international communications strategies for Universal Pictures, Focus Features and DreamWorks Animation, maintaining strong relationships with business and trade reporters, to further the studio's narrative and leadership position in the industry.
• Identify opportunities for and pitch stories that further UFEG's position in the press and build executive profiles
• Develop strategies to enhance our films and leadership's visibility in the media landscape through editorial opportunities and speaking engagements.
• Identify and cover executives at premieres, events, and conferences
• Forge a strategic partnership with communications group, reporting directly to the SVP, Global Communications, on issues management, messaging and positioning relating to key film priorities, and crisis communications.
• Help oversee preparation of written communications, including talking points, press releases, memos, strategy documents, and manage box office press.
• Assist in maintaining relationships with Universal's first-look term deals and key production partners.
• Work with various divisions across the portfolio, including Universal Picture Home Entertainment, Film Music and Publishing, Brand Development, Universal Theatrical Group, Publicity/Awards, Global Talent Development & Inclusion, Litigation, International, Technology
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least 7 years of corporate and/or crisis communications experience in the entertainment industry.

Desired Characteristics:
• Feature film communications experience at a studio, production company, talent agency, or communications/PR firm is preferred.
• Proven, exceptional writing skills (samples required).
• Demonstrated proficiency in social media platforms.
• Clearly established relationships with a wide variety of reporters and editors in the trade and entertainment press.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and collaborate with senior executives, creative partners, and peers across a highly matrixed, fast-paced, innovative, and highly energetic corporate culture.
• Highly organized and proven ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects.
• Graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field is preferred
