Responsibilities

JOB OBJECTIVES

Responsible for developing NBCU strategic growth opportunities and maximising global TV and digital revenue for Universal's acquisition and production business, UPCG.

Responsible for the sales activities of NBCUniversal's filmed entertainment and television product to Free TV, Basic TV, Pay TV, Subscription VOD, VOD & EST outlets throughout the Benelux markets. In addition, the VP will assist in the development and execution of business strategies across the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

VP Acquired Products Distribution
• Responsibility worldwide, overseeing a team of 3 direct reports
• Active participation in UPCG's SMT, one of 8 leading a business of 80+ employees
• Sales responsibilities:
• Incremental packages: Drive sales efforts with local NBCU sales executives to generate incremental revenue, focusing specifically on products not flowing through volume deals, multi-territory clients, and specialist genre packages. Join pitches with clients as product experts. Build and nurture strong, lasting customer relationships.
• Tailored sales strategies for individual titles: Work with the local and central NBCU sales executives to maximize TV and digital revenue for key products.
• Film/doc windowing optimization
• UPCG input into volume deal negotiations and sales administration
• Liaison between TVD division and acquisitions teams to identify product gaps, maximize deals in place and fill open slots
• Represent the company within the industry; participate in TV (MIPCOM) and film (Cannes) markets and sales meetings.
• Oversee sales solutions efforts for UPCG, including genre decks, launch initiatives, lifecycle pushes
• Budget management and planning:
• Oversee the strategy and budget, set revenue targets, monitor quarterly revenue pacing, and prepare reports/presentations for Senior Management on performance drivers and R&Os (TVD & UPCG).
• Assist the finance team on maintaining models and streamlining processes.
• Content strategy & festival support:
• Work with SVP, Global Acquisitions to devise UPCG acquisition strategy
• Drive 'Bigger, Better' acquisition efforts
• Participate in key deal negotiations
• Address greenlight queries and support acquisitions team during festivals
• Support content commissioning, co-production ambitions
• Maximize digital distribution efforts:
• Create and drive new revenues, especially in the AVOD space with SVP, Digital Monetization
• Lead digital only processes
• Transactional launch initiatives and maximizing promotional efforts
• Provide guidance on UPCG distribution plans, including advising on optimal release dates and input into theatrical release strategy
• Stakeholder management/other responsibilities:
• Act as the TV and digital expert, representing TVD and updating UPCG/filmmakers/producers on strategies & successes
• Present and educate UPCG on the TVD business and shifting landscape
• Combined NBCU Documentary approach (across Sky, Focus, Peacock, MSNBC Films)
• Process review and sales maximization for international Focus titles (French & Italian films)
• Assist on ad hoc projects and perform other related duties as requested

VP Sales Liaison,

Responsibility for the Benelux region

Sales responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and achieve the annual sales budget
• Report results to management on a monthly or as needed basis.
• Create pricing and packaging strategies
• Manage all payments, payment security and product shipments to clients on a regular basis
• Oversee all major deals, developing and maintaining a close working relationship with internal stakeholders and clients
• Liaise closely with internal constituents (e.g., operations admin, sales support, business & legal affairs, new media, production, finance and other related parties) on sales plans and programs. Resolve issues and ensure timely responses to customer needs
• Conceive, develop and implement product-packaging strategies that maximize incremental revenue opportunities
• Manage a large library (9,000 feature film titles, 40,000 TV episodes);
• Monitor the marketplace for changes that affect sales activities, both directly and indirectly
• Identify and create new opportunities for sales as a result of new entrants, emerging markets, changing technology and/or delivery systems
• Develop sales strategies to quickly address and capitalize on these new opportunities
• Customer Contact:
• Inform customers of NBCU's wide range of content, services as well as corporate events
• Follow up with clients on requests and co-ordinate solutions to contract/distribution issues where required
• Meet clients on a regular basis
• Represent the company within the industry including participation in company conventions, activities etc.
• Sustain and develop strong relationships with broadcasters in the region
• Follow up with clients to maximize product placement, ratings and promotional opportunities
• Seek out strategic local partnership
• Perform other related duties as requested by management/leadership

Qualifications
• 10+ years' experience working in the media industry
• Good contacts in the media industry including broadcasters and digital platforms
• Knowledge of media market in international territories
• Familiarity with the critical elements of deal structuring, including pricing and media rights
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, managing multiple projects, and working under tight timeframes
• Exceptional financial, analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and able to operate independently
• Strong business partnering and teamwork skills is crucial
• Excellent influencing skills, able to secure support from stakeholders at all levels
• Strong verbal skills and ability to present to an executive audience if required
• Exposure to international markets
• A natural flair for sales combined with an entrepreneurial outlook and analytical mind.
• A high level of interest in, passion for and understanding of all forms of content and the ability to effectively communicate your passion to others
• Understanding of the Linear and New Media/Digital landscape. Knowledge of the Benelux Television markets is a plus though not essential.
• Experience of growing and developing long lasting relationships with New Media, Free TV, pay/satellite/cable/broadband customers.
• Strong customer focus, committed to adding value and best possible satisfaction of customer needs. Cultivates a deep, proactive understanding of customer requirements and goals.
