Responsibilities
The position reports to the EVP, Communications, NBCU News Group, and will work closely with the SVP's, Communications, for NBC News, Today and CNBC. This role will support NBC News Digital, MSNBC Digital, Today Digital, NBC News Now, CNBC Digital, Audio and Business Product and Tech Team Operations.
• Lead and manage PR strategy, outreach, and communications for all of NBCU News Group Digital properties including: NBCNews.com, TODAY.com, MSNBC.com, Stay Tuned, and our various apps/digital platforms
• Direct promotion of digital content on a daily basis, plus relevant data, analytics, and digital trend stories
• Promote content and storytelling to position brands for maximum marketplace visibility
• Serve as a media strategist and primary liaison with digital leaders for PR strategy
• Identify speaking opportunities and panels for NBC News Digital and MSNBC Digital teams
• Foster strong contacts with print, digital, and trade media
• Pitch ideas and generate press materials, including press releases, bios, talking points, tweets, and pitch letters

Note: This position will at times require weekend work.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of media relations and communications experience
• Minimum of 5 years of media relations and communications within either a news organization or political campaign
• Excellent judgement with communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with, and contacts in, media and political talent relations
• Experience in data and ratings measurement
• Willingness to travel and work on weekends

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Characteristics
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or equivalent
• Political experience strongly preferred
• Passion for news and journalism
• Ability to multi-task and meet numerous deadlines and identify press opportunities
• Strong understanding of social media platforms
• Exemplary organization and time management skills
• Experience in digital news, podcasts, e-commerce or streaming
