Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Vice President, Casting for Universal Television will be responsible for casting and talent management, including identifying new and upcoming talent, developing relationships for potential placement on a variety of programs, and managing the relationships between the creative executives/producers and existing talent. The role will report to the EVP, Talent and Casting. This position is based in the Universal City, CA offices but may start as working remotely.

Responsibilities:
include, but are not limited to:
• Primarily responsible for casting talent for Universal Television's scripted programs
• Identify, hire, and oversee independent casting directors for each Universal Television project
• Work with writers, producers, talent, and studio management to cast talent for pilots and current series
• Manage the flow of communication on all talent matters between the studio, executive producers/showrunners, and network partners
• Develop and maintain relationships with talent agents and managers
• Attend theater performances, talent showcases, comedy clubs, film festivals, and diversity & inclusion events on behalf of Universal Television in order to identify new talent
• Provide ongoing talent relations services on set as needed
• Maintain and expand the department's talent database

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years' experience in casting for scripted productions
• Extensive and established relationships with talent, managers, and agents

• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Desired Characteristics

Desired Characteristics:
• Previous experience in casting for television programming is preferred
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully across a wide range of functional groups (e.g. Development, Business Affairs, Finance, Publicity, Marketing, and Legal)
• Established track record of successful multi-tasking, effective communication, and problem solving
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
