Job Description

Responsibilities

The DGA-represented Director at WMAQ-TV, NBCUniversal in Chicago, is responsible for the direction of live or recorded on-air broadcast presentation of the station's news and special programs.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of Director experience directing news and local programming from a live studio at a major market station
• Minimum 2 years' experience working with automation in the news field
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends and overtime as scheduled
• Must be a member in good standing of the DGA (Directors Guild of America) union

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a current DGA union member in good standing or will be required to join the union if not currently a member.
• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age

Additional Requirements:

Desired:
• Bachelor's Degree in TV/Radio, TV Production or related field
• Familiar with systems such as Ross Overdrive and Dalet Newsroom management
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with an energetic and proactive approach
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and in situations requiring last-minute decisions on a daily basis
• Excellent communicator, contributor and team player
