Role

Looking for a highly skilled Senior Publicist for the Global Photography Department with substantial studio still department experience to provide strong creative, strategic and managerial backup to VP, Global Photo Department. Individual must possess an exceptional aesthetic sense, creative eye and strategic understanding of global needs and material. Must be able to anticipate unique needs on complex and complicated projects including both live action and animation. Individual should be effective working in a diverse group of people across the world and be adept at developing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal stakeholders, photographers, filmmakers, and talent reps.

Essential Responsibilities:
• You will be the lead editor and studio contact actively working on a large volume of global titles across all studios, inclusive of pre-production, production, theatrical release, PVOD/Home Video, and potential awards windows.
• You will supervise unit photographers on assigned projects and liaise with unit publicists to make sure all marketing/production needs are covered.
• You will manage and provide selections of photographic material for all global marketing territories/departments.
• Work closely with global project executives and upper management on photo selections to meet strategic marketing goals.
• Help supervise special publicity shoots on select titles, inclusive of hiring photographers, working with talent and reps, logistics, approvals, retouching and final deliveries to global territories
• Help supervise global event photographers and work with hired house photographers to secure red carpet set ups, specialty requests, and follow up selections for global press, talent, and filmmakers.
• Work closely with VP, Global Photo on internal projects and pulling frames for assigned films.
• Help oversee talent approvals on all departmental titles with departmental Coordinator.
• Handle requests for archival and specialty materials on as-needed basis.
• Cover for department VP, Global Photo when needed.
• Come up to speed and integrate into all existing projects.
• Help review and maintain best practices for the department and help establish new policies and procedures to allow for maximum efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years in a studio photo department or related high performance photo service organization.
• Hands on extensive experience editing photographic material for a multitude of purposes including but not limited to publicity, creative advertising, social media, brand partnerships and specialty needs.
• Experience editing and managing big tentpole films including interaction with all studio departments, talent reps, filmmakers, VFX producers, and vendors.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to join the Local 600 Union
• Must be able to work nights and weekends

• Able to liaise and maintain excellent working relationships with filmmakers, talent reps and vendors.
• Knowledge of unit photographers worldwide and experience with the hiring process.
• Experience handling all logistics of publicity photo shoots.
• Working knowledge of talent contracts regarding photographic legal and likeness restrictions.
• Expanded intermediary knowledge of Photoshop with ability to edit, lightly retouch/adjust, crop and caption images.
• Experience with on-line editing programs.
• Knowledge of event photographers and experience with red carpet set ups and follow up process
• Ability to handle a large volume of projects at once while meeting constantly changing deadlines.
• Be a consummate team player with commitment to excellence who instills confidence in others.
• Extensive knowledge of other graphic programs a plus
• College degree preferred
• Ability to work with a cross section of individuals at all levels of the organization.
