Job Description
Responsibilities
The person in this role will handle a diverse range of legal matters primarily related to the production, co-production, licensing, and exploitation of original scripted programming for the NBCUniversal Entertainment Networks and Platforms (NBC, Peacock, Bravo, USA, Syfy, E!, Oxygen and UniKids), and may also handle legal matters related to original unscripted and alternative programming as needed. This role will report to the Vice President, Legal Affairs.
• Responsible for all legal matters during development, production, and delivery of third-party produced scripted originals, including evaluating rights, managing risk across a broad range of production-related topics and performing all other show lawyer duties
• Draft, negotiate, review, analyze and interpret a variety of agreements (including production services, license agreements, co-production, indemnity and quitclaim agreements, and other similar agreements) in an accurate and timely manner
• Interface on a day-to-day basis with various internal groups (business affairs, creative, production operations, finance, marketing/publicity, contract administration, studios) and production personnel and develop collaborative, creative and commercial relationships
• Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues to internal business, production and creative partners, and propose practical, responsive solutions
• Collaborate with members of Entertainment Networks Legal Affairs team and colleagues in the Law Department
on projects with long-term business implications
• Manage, advise and support certain junior members of Legal Affairs team
• Identify and implement improvements to forms and processes
• Perform other tasks as requested by Vice President, Legal Affairs and other attorneys in the Entertainment Networks Legal Affairs group
• Other matters as needed

Qualifications/Requirements
• JD from an accredited law school and member of a state bar in good standing or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel
• A minimum of 7 years of entertainment, media law, intellectual property and/or other relevant experience
• Willingness to work occasional nights and on weekends as needed
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY, or Los Angeles, CA
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
