We're currently looking for an eager and creative Social Media Video Producer to join our innovative social team. This role will be responsible for pitching, editing and crafting native social video for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and drive the brand forward to the next generation of audiences.
The ideal candidate has proven experience of creatively packaging, editing and sourcing video content that will resonate, grow and build social audiences. This role is perfect for a big thinker with creative ideas and a passion for connecting with audiences through native social video techniques.

Responsibilities:
• Pitch and create social video for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube based on broadcast, internet trends, UGC and original content ideas.
• Edit and repackage broadcast, longform and short-form video content for social.
• Be fluent in the latest features and trends across Instagram and TikTok.
• Create, write, and edit social posts for optimization across our various social platforms, including social headline writing and post copy. This includes content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
• Ensure that social media copy is flawlessly composed, with special attention to grammar and spelling.
• Maintain focus and accuracy during breaking news and high-pressure news situations; keeping as many platforms as active as possible while news happens.
• Look at analytics to see how our platforms are performing against KPIs and brainstorm ideas to help reach new audiences to meet those goals.
• Collaborate on new and innovative social projects to bring in new audiences for the TODAY brand, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok.
• Manage relationships with broadcast teams to think creatively about broadcast and social integrations, series and special projects.
• Identify, research and produce content in line with social media trends and viral moments.
• Coordinate with editors on show teams, site programming, and marketing
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in communication, film, journalism or
a similar relevant field of study
• 3+ years editing in a newsroom environment, including
experience with news, video editing, and dedicated social
publishing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in video editing, and
packaging/publishing on social media accounts for a
news outlet(s).
• Fluent in editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, AVID,
etc.) and familiarity with After Effects and Photoshop
preferred.

• Willingness to work West Coast hours.

• An understanding of how to optimize content for each
social platform.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to
prioritize while multitasking.
• Prior experience in video editing, especially for social
media.
• Comfortable working with talent and visiting live studio
sets
• Desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive but
highly rewarding news environment.
• Comfort being an independent self-starter, but also part
of a multi-location, multi-time zone team.
• Experience analyzing social and site analytics, and
generating reports.
• Experience with live television production or
programming.
• Experience as a site editor or similar digital media
experience.
• On-camera comfortability is a huge plus, but not a
requirement.
• Active awareness of NBC and TODAY personalities and
brands.
