OVERVIEW

The Social Manager will support the Director of Social Media in the oversight and implementation of effective social media strategy across the Networks channel brands in the UK & Emerging Markets region, with primary focus on the UK & Ireland, South Africa, Nigeria and the Middle East.
The Social Media Manager will work closely with the Brand Marketing, Digital, Creative, PR/Communications, Programming and Insights teams, and ensure that social media strategy is aligned with business objectives.
They will collaborate with the in house Social Media Content Producers' on content and community management for the day-to-day running of Networks social channels, and manage third party agencies executing paid media and campaign activity.
The candidate must be well versed in current social media trends, stay informed of the latest platform changes and innovations, and will constantly assess new opportunities for inclusion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the execution of the social media plan that includes objectives, strategy, tone and content approach in alignment with brand marketing & business goals.
• Alongside the Head of Social Media, manage agency & third party relationships to effectively align and execute social strategy.
• Identify, plan and implement ''real time'' social media content and engagement strategy opportunities to reach specific target audiences.
• Develop and implement tactical plans to support marketing objectives, including creating engagement strategies that generate traffic to our sites, incite conversation and engagement, and grow advocacy and community.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
• Social media strategy experience
• Proven success with TV/content brands, willing to take risks and drive aggressive growth/engagement within a short period of time
• Innovative and forward thinking, keeping up with the latest in digital/social media trends and platforms, proactively incorporating new ideas and/or emerging platforms
• Proven track record transforming creative ideas into successful social media implementations, with experience planning social campaigns and/or advertising
• Relevant experience working in online media and/or publishing, with the ability to react quickly to industry trends and adapt strategy accordingly
• Strong knowledge of social media and analytics software
• Self-starter with good sense of prioritisation and hands on approach, able to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines within matrix structure
• Good communicator with strong interpersonal and business skills, confident in communication with senior management
• Strong written and presentation skills
• Experience in managing agency relationships
• Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable
