Responsibilities
Role Purpose:

The Senior Production Accountant is responsible for performing and maintaining the production accounting functions at Telemundo Studios Miami. This position works closely with the production groups to ensure that processes established by Telemundo Television Studios are in place and functioning as designed. The Senior Production Accountant is also responsible for supporting and financial reporting of scripted productions with the understanding of policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with NBC Standards and Practices. This position is also responsible for carrying out the Company Operating Plan and assuring production budgets are met.

Responsibilities:

Ensure data integrity exists between Vista 5, Accion TV and SAP systems by auditing and approving all coding and reviewing detailed actuals
Works closely with Finance in preparing Bi-weekly forecasting and cost projection reports with its respective variance explanation
Preparation of detailed production budgets (movie magic), analysis and presentation to the Production Executive team and Finance for review/approval
Prepares general ledger entries such as reclasses, labor offset and accruals
Review show Trial Balance and provide explanations as needed
Review vendors payments submitted through Accounts Payable
Consolidates, Review and approve all PCard reconciliations
Review petty cash custodianship for authorized personnel
Audit and reconciliation of petty cash expense reports and pcard reports
Audit and review of payroll invoices
Issues V5 physical payment checks as needed
Adhering to Financial Policies and Procedures
Work with key stakeholders, operating groups and finance team members to improve the effectiveness of the financial planning process, assumptions and results
Identify improvement opportunities to the forecast and budgeting process that drive efficiencies in the organization
Manages Staff Accountants as needed
Knowledgeable of GAAP policies, SOP002 and FAS63

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related fields
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
Ability to meet critical deadlines by balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Detail-oriented with previous work experience in financial planning and analysis preferred
Experienced in using financial/accounting software and applications
Experience with SAP and Movie Magic preferred
Strong proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact appropriately with all levels of the organization
Ability to participate in a collaborative team environment
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Fluent in Spanish a plus

Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to work regular hours.

Desired Characteristics

Minimum 2 years of experience in the Finance television production field
Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related fields is strongly preferred
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Team player and self-motivated
Customer service oriented
Bilingual candidates with a fluency in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write) are strongly preferred
