Role
Responsibilities of the Digital Ad Sales Finance team is to support revenue across the Entertainment, Lifestyle, News, Sports, and Hispanic Sales as well as Strategic Partnerships (''Partners'').
Ad Sales Finance supports all aspects of budgeting and reporting of Advertising Sales revenue. The Sr. Manager, NBC Sports within Ad Sales Finance is responsible for the day-to-day revenue metrics, financial closes, and financial reporting of Digital revenue related to the Sports Businesses.
In this role you will be a key part of Digital Sports team and an owner of financial information for Tentpole Events such as the Olympics, Super Bowl and World Cup as well as both the NBC Sports Group and GolfChannel. This is a pivotal time in the Digital Ad Sales space and this role has the opportunity to make an impact in this growing and ever-changing area of the company with exposure to senior leadership and cross functional teams. The changing landscape of Sports content on our OTT Platform, Peacock, also adds a new and exciting layer of complexity to the NBC Sports Group dynamic.
This role reports directly to the Director of Sports / FP&A - Digital Ad Sales Finance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Data Management: Source, consolidate, and organize financial data across all sales channels to support weekly reporting, pacing updates, and annual budgeting/long-range planning cycles. Manage master trending schedules and internal data management software. Continually design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency of data management process.
• Financial Analysis: Conducted deliver financial insights and analysis on major sales KPIs including revenue variances, cash pacing, pricing, ratings, and liability. Analyze trends to identify risks and opportunities. Run marketplace analytics on client and category spend.
• Quarterly and Monthly Close: Recognize quarterly revenue at each of the individual Site Levels, Book and Process Journal Entries, clearly identify and communicate any significant variances vs. the latest current pacing.
• Presentation to Senior Management: Support preparation of major deliverables and executive presentations such as Weekly Financial Updates, Operating Reviews, Budget, and Long-Range Plan presentations for executive leadership including both the CFO and Chairman of Global Advertising & Partnerships. Lead preparation of major deliverables for Corporate Finance group.
Qualifications/Requirements
• BA/BS 4-year degree in business, accounting or finance, preferred
• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience with a focus in media
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Prior experience in Fiscal Closes, Journal Entries and Financial Planning & Analysis required
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
