Job Purpose
The Senior Financial Analyst will play an integral role in managing the TV greenlight and renewal process in conjunction with the broader ultimates process and financial planning and analysis for Universal Studio Group (USG). The individual will interact with multiple facets of USG and NBCUniversal including: business affairs, creative development, global TV distribution, the internal streaming, network, cable, and ITVP finance teams (Peacock, NBC Network, USA, Syfy, etc.), and cost centers (Production, Participations, and Residuals). This role will be a member of the USG ultimates team, supporting our greenlight and show profitability process while also assisting with quarterly ultimates reviews, monthly pacing submissions, as well as our annual budget and long-range plan.
Other core responsibilities include maintaining insight into show profitability, ad hoc analysis related to deal terms, slate/series strategic decisions, and the operations of USG. This role will report to the Manager of Finance for USG.
Essential Responsibilities
• Partner with manager and business affairs in modeling financial deal terms for TV greenlight approval of new series.
• Provide key support in the show profitability for existing TV series slate by preparing and analyzing P&Ls of each show by season and present out a final deck to CFO of Universal Studio Group.
• Own submission of formal original series greenlight memos for final executive approval.
• Assist with modeling and tracking ultimate profitability for both passively and actively co-produced series.
• Provide support to forecasting and analysis of USG ultimates through management of data and assumptions in financial planning system (i.e. SAP BPC) during close, pacing, and budgeting processes.
• Assist with quarterly ultimates reviews with Distribution Markets, Production Finance, Participations, and Residuals teams.
• Actively support ongoing efforts for process improvement across all essential responsibilities.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for scenario planning.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in Accounting and/or Finance
