Responsibilities
As part of the NBCU Enterprise Data team, the Senior Director will build and lead a team of high performance, high impact analytics professionals responsible unlocking value from people-level data in support of NBCU brands and advertisers. This high-profile role includes planning and delivering audience-first POCs in agile, test & learn, MVP fashion, while also defining and planning for longer-term use cases to inform the NBCUnified product roadmap.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working alongside marketing strategy, platform/product, and measurement teams, the analytics team has joint accountability for delivering measurable benefits in targeting and decisioning/treatment to drive marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Primary accountabilities / responsibilities of the team include:
• Audience predictive analytics and machine learning solutions
• Test & Learn – planning, designing, and analyzing experiments
• Audience development, sizing, planning, profiling, selection & syndication for addressable full-funnel marketing and sales activities
• Support data assessments and recommendations using 1P, 2P, 3P data
• Define performance metrics, marketing reports, executive dashboards, and measurement requirements for audience optimization
• Oversee development of audience analytics strategy, audience development, sizing, profiling, activation, and measurement
• Lead team in support of multiple marketers/advertisers and media teams across verticals
• Work cross-functionally to translate marketing objectives & audience hypotheses into data/analytics requirements and modeling framework
• Define processes and standards to scale team, balancing innovation with quality and repeatability
• Stay current with latest analytical techniques, audience data, and ad/martech trends
• Work with measurement team to link audience activations to conversion events
• Champion data governance, and establish data stewardship standards among team
Qualifications/Requirements
Advanced degree with specialization in statistics, computer science, data science, or other technical /quantitative field
10+ years of relevant experience
10+ years experience in advanced analytics applied to digital, media, and /or audience analytics.
5+ years experience analyzing person-level data and handling PII.
5+ years leading advanced analytics team
Experience in agency setting or other highly cross-functional, collaborative setting
Ability to service and support marketer/advertiser teams, and build on traditional media and marketing methods to advance using data, insights and marketing technology capabilities
Experience with foundational data platforms, cleanrooms, data science platforms, programming and statistical languages, data onboarding and distribution environments
Experience with digital data and analytics, and passion for staying abreast of ad/martech trends and systems
Interest and ability in translating complex findings into non-technical insights, and to guide team in communicating succinctly
Experience with or passion for learning about targeting and measurement in advanced TV space
Ability to guide team to analyze and extract relevant information about guest behaviors and preferences from both structured and unstructured data to better understand marketing opportunities.
