Responsibilities

As a Producer for Nightly News Weekend, you'll have the opportunity to produce substantial and impactful feature stories as well as crash breaking news stories. You'll be a major part of the broadcast, working closely with the Executive Producer and Senior Producers to pitch, develop, and produce premium news content, all while working at a place that values creativity, experimenting, and expanding your own skillset.

Responsibilities:
• Pitch, develop and produce feature stories to air on Nightly News Weekend. This includes booking, writing, overseeing shoots remotely or traveling for them, coordinating graphics, and overseeing the edit.
• Work closely with correspondents and Senior Producers to crash breaking news stories. This includes coordinating with field teams, Social Media Newsgathering, and affiliates to make sure we have the most compelling video and interviews.

Qualifications
• At least five years' editorial experience working in production at the network level, preferably with evening television
• Must have a Bachelor's degree
• Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
• Must be able to shoot and edit
• Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
• Must be proficient in social media
• Must be willing to work in NYC
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
