Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for managing the team to ensuring that all Payroll tax and garnishment activities are completed timely and accurately for NBCUniversal. Includes but not limited to managing tax reporting vendor, tax jurisdiction setups, audits and review of quarterly and year-end processes, setup of garnishments with vendor, and providing customer service. Provide Payroll Tax expertise to Global Payroll Services and NBCU.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for federal, state and local payroll tax and garnishment obligations for all legal entities of NBCUniversal
• Manage jurisdiction setup of state and local agencies in conjunction with payroll vendor
• Manage Payroll Tax and garnishments services vendor (ADP) to ensure SLAs are met
• Lead Payroll Tax team to ensure payroll tax reporting functions are successfully completed
• Audit, review and validate accuracy of work performed by tax vendor and tax team
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of W2 wages and withholdings for all entities, including third-party vendor files/reports to the source system
• Submit files for processing of 592B, 1042s, 1099 -Misc. and 1099 NEC
• Responsible for payroll check printing and disbursements
• Responsible for timely resolution of outstanding tax notices and agency correspondence
• Monitor tax changes and compliance ordinance to ensure payroll system is updated
• Support any Tax reporting projects not limited to acquisitions or mergers
• Responsible for timely resolution of employee tax issues/tickets
• Lead payroll tax reporting enhancement and continuous improvement projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience working within payroll to support payroll/payroll tax processing for large complex multi-state organization
• 5+ years leading/supervising a Payroll Tax Team with a multi-state population
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience with leading payroll process and projects
• Experience in SAP Payroll or equivalent enterprise-level HR/payroll system
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated experience with managing external payroll vendors
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of payroll tax and compliance
