We're looking for a Multiplatform Editor – a self-starter and a strong writer who is social savvy and has a keen editorial eye for what engages audiences. If you're a creative thinker who loves to spot a story before it goes viral, this is the job for you.

The ideal candidate has a passion for creating compelling homepage, SEO and social headlines, mobile alerts and clean copy while seamlessly using data and analytics to inform content distribution, curation, and packaging. The Multiplatform Editor will be obsessed with data and analytics, A/B testing and finding the elements within a story that will resonate with our loyal and younger audiences. This role also requires a strong awareness of the TODAY brand and broadcast with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities:
• Curates TODAY.com homepage during broadcast hours with a mix of stories and videos that give the TODAY audience everything they need to know to start their day
• Uses real-time analytics to help inform story packaging, posting and curation
• Curates TODAY Mobile app to reflect latest content, special packages, and promotions
• Collaborates with Managing Editor to build editorial strategies to grow audiences, engage with new audience demographics
• Tracks data, audience behavior, and generates reports to actively look for optimization opportunities.
• Partners with data analytics and engagement teams to establish and track KPIs to provide actionable insights and develop best practices.
• Publishes and pitches any stories that have been pre-pitched.
• Creates and curates special package fronts, video fronts, diversity fronts, etc.
• Continually iterates on strategy that fits with the TODAY brand.
• Coordinates with editors and producers on broadcast, site programming and social team to assist in promotion or prep for the following day

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and comparable work

experience
• 4+ years of working in a digital newsroom writing/editing

experience in a newsroom
• Expertise writing and re-writing SEO and social

headlines, decks, changing images when needed
• Excellent copy-editing skills. Knowledge of AP style.

Quick and accurate at all times: Typos drive you crazy.

Factual errors keep you up at night.
• Experience using and understanding such analytics

programs as Domo, Parse.ly, Chartbeat, Google

Analytics, Crowdtangle, Omniture. You use analytics to

help guide homepage placement, headline changes and

pivot based on performance
• Skilled at multitasking and juggling multiple, fast-moving

storylines at once
• Experience applying tags, taxonomies, and other basic

story metadata
