Responsibilities
Role

The Manager is responsible for obtaining copyright and trademark permissions, breaking down scripts, watching dailies, reviewing the Director's cut of a film and preparing a Clearance grid for outstanding items. They will also assist with any clip licensing and brand permissions if needed. This position will report to the VP, Clearances and Product Placement.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Research contacts and obtain clearances /licenses from copyright and trademark holders
• Break down scripts for clearances/product placement, prepare a script breakdown report
• Screen dailies for clearance issues
• Watch Director's cut of our films, in addition to our acquisitions, distribution and 1440 films and prepare a Clearance report based on viewing
• Follow through with Producers/Crew/ Outside Production personnel on Director's cut report until all items are resolved
• Experience licensing clips and getting talent permissions for Reuse clips
• Assist with Product Placement if needed

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of clearance experience with responsibility for researching/investigating issues
• 5+ years script breakdown experience
• 3+ years clip licensing

Eligibility Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Familiarity with legal documents
• Legal Research an asset
• Knowledge of brands
• Proficiency with FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, CORE, SharePoint, TEAMS
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Clearance / Clip Licensing Experience
• Works well within a team
• Detail Oriented – Pays attention to multiple details and multiple tasks while minimizing errors
• Organization – In order to manage multiple tasks effectively, must be organized in approach and execution of work
